A good rule of thumb on the greens is to always overestimate the break. I see way too many golfers lip out putts on the “low-side” of the cup (on a right-to-left breaker, it’s the left side). Think about this for a second. If you are constantly missing putts on that low-side of the break, you’ll never make any putts. EVER!

sneadBy overestimating the break, your ball will always be rolling TOWARDS the hole. Not to mention, putts that hit the low edge of the cup almost always lip out.

So. Overestimate the break! Your putts will always have a chance of going in. Hit the “high-side” of the hole and you’ll find your “luck” start turning around.
